ASPA Bucharest representatives announce on Thursday, March 30, that they captured 2 dogs on Wednesday with the help of a tranquilizer gun, during actions that took place near Dedeman Ghencea and on Iuliu Maniu boulevard, near the former Victoria factory. The institution claims that more than 100 dogs were captured from sectors 5 and 6 this month.
“Capturing dogs that roam freely in open and vast areas of the field is the most difficult to achieve and requires light and the use of a tranquilizer weapon, which can only be used in the presence of a veterinarian,” ASPA Bucharest writes on Facebook.
On Wednesday, ASPA captured 2 dogs using this method, as part of actions that took place near Dedeman Ghencea and on Iuliu Maniu boulevard, near the former Victoria factory, the institution states. Two other dogs were captured, from the same areas, using specific non-traumatic methods, ASPA Bucharest representatives add.
According to the cited source, in March alone, over 100 dogs were captured from sectors 5 and 6.
“The capture crews respond daily to all requests from citizens and institutions. However, simply reporting a dog in an area does not guarantee its capture. Dogs may be just passing through, hiding, being put in yards by their owners, or simply running into open fields and not being captured. That is why it is necessary to provide as much information as possible when you request the intervention of ASPA crews, in order to have as many successful actions as possible”, ASPA also transmits.
On January 21, a 43-year-old woman died following being attacked by dogs while jogging near Lac Morii.
