The Golling Festival presented its program on Tuesday. In addition to music, comedy, readings and top-class instrumentalists, the good cause is also not neglected: opera star Asmik Grigorian gives a concert in favor of the Salzburg Special Clinic for Butterfly Children.

This year’s motto of the festival summer at Golling Castle (Tennengau) is “Moments of enjoyment”. There will be some of them for the visitors once more this year.

“Tidbits” for every cultural taste

The festival summer will be opened by star violinist Benjamin Schmid and his wife, pianist Ariane Haering. The two perform together with their four children. The “family program” ranges from Vivaldi to current pop music. Soprano Milena Arsovska comes solo with musical pictures all around the theme night. And cabaret artist Alfred Dorfer and mezzo-soprano Angelika Kirchschlager let classical music meet comedy.

Light and Dark and Festspiele Golling support charity

One of the highlights is the performance of the Lithuanian opera star Asmik Grigorian, who shone as “Salome” at the Salzburg Festival in 2019. She waives her fee and will donate the concert proceeds, together with the Festival Golling and Licht ins Dunkel association, to the special clinic for butterfly Children in Salzburg. It is already her second charity performance at the Festival in Golling. “When I see someone suffering, I feel the pain. A high sensitivity as an artist, that is my motivation for charity. I just have to do it,“ the soprano said.

Incidentally, the Golling Festival is weatherproof this year. “We span the Döllerer Garden with a sail that holds even in thunderstorms,” says Hermann Döllerer, restaurateur and founder of the Golling Festival.

Festival tickets can be booked online
