[OSEN=임혜영 기자] Lee Soo-geun and Seo Jang-hoon were angry at the story of the person who found out regarding his spouse’s affair while fighting cancer.
On KBS Joy’s ‘Ask Anything’ (hereinfollowing referred to as Ask Anything) broadcast on the 18th, a storyteller suffering from pancreatic cancer appeared.
The storyteller revealed that he has stage 4 pancreatic cancer and has been fighting the disease for two years. “I have undergone over 40 rounds of chemotherapy. It was going well, but things got worse last year due to a difficult situation. He also divorced while battling pancreatic cancer. “She has been fighting the disease since June 2021, and in January 2022, she got divorced,” she said, adding that she had been going through a difficult time.
The storyteller said, “Three months following my cancer diagnosis, I found out that my husband was cheating on me. I started having an affair 3 weeks following the onset of the disease. Even women know that I have cancer. She was married for 4 years. The child was young at the time. She said, “I am raising the child,” leaving Lee Soo-geun and Seo Jang-hoon dumbfounded.
The storyteller said, “Like any other couple, we fought a lot. He was trying to survive somehow, but I got sick too, so the family was in chaos. One of the reasons for being here is that things came almost simultaneously. He revealed the reason for his appearance by saying, “I told people around me that I was suffering from illness, but on top of that, I mightn’t even tell them that I was divorced.”
According to the story, the ex-husband ran a gym and the adulterous woman was a government official. An acquaintance contacted the storyteller saying that their relationship was suspicious, and the storyteller became convinced of the affair through a PC messenger. He shocked people by saying, “I heard the contents of the black box say that her wife had cancer and that she might end up alone.”
At the time, the storyteller had no intention of getting a divorce right away, so he first filed a lawsuit for compensation for damages from the adulterous woman, but they continued to meet. The person who was shocked by this gathered evidence and filed for divorce within two months. She expressed regret by saying that she was unable to properly divide her assets due to the quick divorce. She also said, “I didn’t have money to buy a lawyer, so I went to the argument myself in pain. She added, “She was an adulteress, and she said to me, ‘She may have stage 4 cancer and it might be a lie, so she should get checked.’” Seo Jang-hoon, who heard this, appeared to be in tears.
Lee Soo-geun responded incomprehensibly, saying, “The child is a newborn and the wife is sick, and another woman comes in?” He asked regarding the couple’s current situation, and the storyteller revealed that the two had broken up a long time ago.
Seo Jang-hoon asked if there was anywhere nearby he might ask for help, and he answered that his younger brother and mother would help him. Seo Jang-hoon also said, “Get treatment really hard for yourself more than anyone else. “Suppress your feelings of hating that person and feeling stressed regarding related matters and put them aside for the time being,” he advised.
Lee Soo-geun said, “After the broadcast, don’t call the person’s relatives and ask them why they did it. “Please,” he added.
