[파이낸셜뉴스] A foreign substance was mixed in Asiana Airlines in-flight meals and a passenger was injured. It is already the third time this year that Asiana Airlines passengers have experienced inconvenience due to a foreign object in their in-flight meal.
According to the airline industry on the 7th, on Asiana Airlines Flight OZ752, which departed from Singapore Changi Airport on the 15th of last month and headed to Incheon International Airport, a passenger chewed a foreign substance while eating bibimbap, which was served as an in-flight meal, and suffered damage to his teeth.
It was confirmed that the bibimbap in question was made by a Singaporean company, not a domestic manufacturer.
Asiana Airlines said it was investigating the incident, including asking a local company to analyze the foreign substance.
Earlier, on May 20, the in-flight meal salad of OZ754, which was headed from Manila to Incheon, had broken pieces of plate. This salad was also an in-flight meal provided by a local company in the Philippines. Fortunately, the passenger did not swallow any foreign objects and was not seriously injured.
Also, on April 16, on Asiana Airlines flight OZ231 from Honolulu, Hawaii to Incheon, a passenger who was eating bibimbap, which was provided as an in-flight meal, chewed a foreign object and damaged three teeth. It is known that this in-flight meal was also made by a local Hawaiian in-flight meal manufacturer and supplied to Asiana Airlines.
Asiana Airlines said, “We are investigating how foreign substances were found in the in-flight meals,” and added, “We will strengthen management and supervision of overseas catering companies.”
