Asiago Hospital: important donation from the Association “Friends of Silvia, Lisa and Roberta Onlus”

The Functional Recovery and Rehabilitation department of Asiago Hospital has received a significant donation: thirteen new televisions, one for each hospital room, offered by the Association “Amici di Silvia, Lisa e Roberta Onlus”. The goal is to improve the quality of patients’ stay during their hospitalization, which can often last for weeks or even months.

The idea of the donation was born from the personal experience of one of the members of the Association, Daniela Paccanaro, secretary of the group. “After the hospitalization of a person close to us, we noticed that there was no television in the rooms and we thought it could be a useful resource for patients, who spend a lot of time in the hospital,” explained Paccanaro. So, the association decided to intervene, offering a significant contribution to make hospitalization more comfortable.

Dr. Mario Scapin, Director of the Complex Operational Unit for Functional Recovery and Rehabilitation of Asiago and Bassano, emphasized the importance of this equipment: “For neurological patients, hospitalization can last from two weeks to several months. Having a distraction like television can psychologically lighten the period of hospitalization, especially in moments when there are no activities, such as Saturday afternoons and Sundays.”

The General Director of ULSS 7 Pedemontana, Carlo Bramezza, also expressed his thanks: «This donation helps make the Asiago Rehabilitation Department even more welcoming. During the rehabilitation process, maintaining good morale is fundamental, and these small comforts can make a big difference». Bramezza recalled how the department was already an excellence for professionalism and modern facilities, but that now, thanks to this donation, it has further improved the level of hospitality for patients.

The Association “Amici di Silvia, Lisa e Roberta Onlus” was created to remember three loved ones who passed away, and is involved in various solidarity initiatives for the community of the Asiago Plateau. Among its activities, there are donations for the hospital, schools, kindergartens and retirement homes, with particular attention to the most fragile people. The initiatives are financed through 5×1000, donations and some events organized during the year.

Thanks to the generosity and commitment of this Association, the Rehabilitation Department of the Asiago Hospital can now offer an even more humane and comfortable hospitalization experience to its patients.
