The schedule of this year’s Asia Cup cricket tournament has been released. The India-Pak match, which cricket fans are waiting for, will take place on 28th of this month. The competition is in Dubai. The tournament will begin on August 27 and the finals will be held on September 11. India and Pakistan are in Group A. The third member of the group is the team that plays the qualifiers. The top two finishers in the group stage will enter the Super Four. All the teams will face each other in Super Four. The top two teams will play in the finals.
There are two groups in total. The second group will have Sri Lanka and Afghanistan along with another team that will play the qualifying round. The opening match is between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. Out of the total 13 matches, 10 are in Dubai. Three matches will be held in Sharjah.

There are reports that the same Indian team that plays in the Asia Cup may also play in the T20 World Cup. National media reports that there will only be changes to the team if there are injuries or other forced exclusions. In the last few Asia Cups, India has fielded a second tier team. However, if the T20 World Cup team itself plays the Asia Cup, that routine will end. India will send the first tier team to the Asia Cup.
Earlier in 2016, Asia Cup was held in T20 format in Bangladesh. India won the crown following defeating Bangladesh in the final. In 2018, India won the 50-over Asia Cup in UAE by defeating Bangladesh. The 2020 Asia Cup has been postponed due to the covid outbreak.
