Pakistani actress Ashna Shah informed her fans about her mental illness and said that what used to be a joke has now become a bitter reality.
Ashnashah shared the news of his illness on his official account on Instagram.

He said in his post that he suffers from prosopagnosia, or face blindness, which affects a person’s ability to recognize people’s faces, and that his condition has become more prominent over time. I do not recognize anyone immediately. What used to be a joke now makes me feel deprived and I’m sure I’m not alone.
Ishna Shah added that I am saving this message in the highlights of my account so that people who already know me or whom I may come in contact with in the future will not be under any suspicion if I do not recognize them. Try to understand that all this is happening because of my condition.
He said that there is a need to spread more awareness in the society regarding what is prosopagnosia or face blindness and its effects on a person’s life.
Prosopagnosia is a mental illness in which the patient is unable to recognize his surroundings or even ordinary people, causing him to become paranoid.
