AS Promotes Smart City Solutions for IKN

The US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) has provided a grant to the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN), to support the development of an integrated command center, management of smart city infrastructure in Indonesia’s new capital, Nusantara.

The grant will fund pilot projects to demonstrate technology solutions from seven US companies.

“USTDA is pleased to continue its partnership with OIKN to advance the development of smart cities and high-quality infrastructure that will improve sustainability and quality of life in Indonesia’s new capital,” said USTDA Director, Enoh T. Ebong, as reported by VoA, Tuesday (1/10).

“U.S. companies and trusted technology partners can support investments in this critical digital infrastructure, delivering cutting-edge innovation,” he added.

The USTDA grant will fund a command center pilot project along with contributions from U.S. technology companies, including Autodesk, Inc., Amazon Web Services, Inc., Cisco Systems, Inc., Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc., Honeywell International, Inc., International Business Machines Corporation, and Motorola Solutions, Inc.

US technical advisory firm Meta Mind Global Corporation LLC will act as prime contractor to coordinate the OIKN pilot project.

“This collaboration marks an important milestone in our efforts to develop the archipelago as a model of sustainable and innovative urban development,” said Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Mochamad Basuki Hadimuljono who is the Acting Head of OIKN.

“The integration of advanced technologies into our smart city infrastructure will not only enhance our operational capabilities, but also improve the quality of life for residents. “This partnership reflects our commitment to building a capital city that is ready to face the future and is at the forefront of green (environmentally friendly) and digital transformation,” Basuki added.
