(Gwacheon = Yonhap News) Reporter Seul-gi Lee = The National Election Commission announced that the turnout was 18.39% at 4 pm on the 28th, the second day of the 8th National Simultaneous Local Election Early Voting.
Voting started at 6 am on the same day at polling stations across the country, and 8,147,201 out of 44.3 million voters completed their votes.
The region with the highest voter turnout so far was Jeonnam (28.47%), followed by Gangwon (22.88%), Jeonbuk (22.22%), Gyeongbuk (21.13%), and Sejong (19.46%).
The lowest place was Daegu with 13.12%, followed by Gwangju (15.36%), Busan (16.68%), Gyeonggi (16.86%) and Ulsan (17.37%).
The turnout in the metropolitan area was 18.62% in Seoul and 17.86% in Incheon.
