Comparing only the previous local elections since the 6th local election in 2014, when national advance voting was first introduced, it is the highest turnout in the same time period.
Voting began at 6 am on the same day at polling stations across the country, and 7,253,691 of the total 44.3 million voters completed their vote.
The region with the highest voter turnout so far was Jeonnam (25.84%), followed by Gangwon (20.66%), Jeonbuk (20.07%), Gyeongbuk (19.08%), and Gyeongnam (17.28%).
The lowest place was Daegu with 11.64%, followed by Gwangju (13.62%), Busan (14.88%), Gyeonggi (14.92%), and Daejeon (15.45%).
The turnout in the metropolitan area was 16.44% in Seoul and 15.84% in Incheon.
