**Interview with Weather Expert, Dr. Elena⁤ Stavros**

**Editor:** Good morning, Dr. Stavros.‌ Thank you for joining us today to discuss the weather forecast for the⁢ country. It looks like we’re in for a rainy Monday. Can you tell us what’s driving this unsettled weather?

**Dr. Stavros:** Good morning! Yes, we’re experiencing a significant weather system moving over the region, which is bringing increased cloud ⁤cover and rainfall. This is‍ typical for⁣ this time of year as we transition into‌ winter. The system is expected to start ⁢in the western ⁤and southwestern regions ⁣and gradually spread across the mainland.

**Editor:** We’re seeing temperatures drop across the country.⁢ What can residents expect today regarding temperature ranges?

**Dr. Stavros:** Right, temperatures will‍ indeed ⁤be lower than usual for this season. For instance, in areas like Western ⁤Macedonia, we’ll see temperatures‍ range from ⁢-4 to 9 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, in places like Patras, the temperature could reach a maximum of ⁤18 ⁣degrees. It’s essential ⁣for people to dress accordingly, especially considering the ‍wind chill in the Ionian, where winds‌ can gust up to 6 Beaufort.

**Editor:**⁢ Speaking of winds, could ⁣you elaborate on how they will affect visibility and what precautions people should take?

**Dr. Stavros:** Certainly! In many continental areas, visibility might be ⁢locally limited, especially until the morning due to rain and possible fog. Winds will generally be moderate, but in the Aegean, we anticipate winds blowing from the north at 3⁢ to 5 Beaufort, increasing to 6 Beaufort in certain areas. ‌It’s advisable ‍for drivers⁢ to be cautious on the roads and prepare for sudden changes in weather conditions.

**Editor:**‌ You ‍mentioned‌ sporadic storms. Which regions are most likely to experience these?

**Dr. Stavros:** The Ionian Islands and parts ⁣of the western continental areas are the most ‌vulnerable to sporadic storms today. Residents in these regions should keep an eye on local weather advisories, as the storms could intensify.‌ Moreover, the possibility of light snowfall exists in elevated areas above 1500 meters in the central and northern mainland.

**Editor:** ⁣Any final thoughts for our viewers as they prepare for the day ahead?

**Dr. Stavros:** I’d‍ recommend everyone to stay informed through⁢ weather⁢ updates. If ⁢you’re in the affected ⁤regions, carry an umbrella and be mindful of slippery ⁣roads due to rain or potential snow at higher elevations. stay safe and enjoy the⁤ cozy indoor weather!
