The girl who accused singer Ali Zafar of sexual harassment took to social networking site Twitter to apologize to the singer, revealing that she falsely accused Ali Zafar based on a misunderstanding.
A user named Sufi explained the reason for accusing Ali Zafar last year in several tweets on Twitter, and now apologized to him.
In her first tweet, Sufi shared a screenshot of a tweet against the singer last year, on which she wrote, ‘Last year I shared this tweet, when a young girl told that Ali Zafar had molested her. Harassment, but I deleted the tweet a day later, because whatever the girl told me was not entirely true.
Sufi said in another of her tweets that ‘I myself have been a victim of sexual harassment, I fully support the MeToo campaign and also believe in women who have been victims of it, but sometimes we mistrust. I regret how much Ali Zafar was hurt by this unbiased opinion.
Apologizing to Ali Zafar, he wrote, “Ali Zafar, forgive me for believing a lie because it was a young girl who spoke it. Even though the tweet has been deleted, people still criticize you.” And using it to hurt you, I should have told you all this long ago but I was afraid of critics on the internet.’

In his tweet, the singer-actor said, ‘Sufi, it takes courage and bravery to admit your mistake and apologize in front of everyone. You are brave and courageous and that’s what you should be remembered for.’ I pray that you will be blessed with good health’.
It should be noted that last year singer Meesha Shafi had accused Ali Zafar of sexual harassment while launching the MeToo campaign in Pakistan.
In a tweet, Meesha accused Ali Zafar and wrote that Ali Zafar sexually harassed her during a jamming session and this happened when she became a mother of 2 children.
After Misha’s allegations, Ali Zafar immediately dismissed the allegations as baseless, saying in his statement, “I strongly deny all allegations of harassment leveled by Misha Shafi. I will take this matter to court and deal with it professionally and seriously, I will not insult this movement, my family, my industry and my fans by making counter-allegations on social media. I am a believer in truth that always prevails.
After Misha’s allegations, many other women also raised their voice against Ali Zafar on social media and said that Ali Zafar had sexually harassed them too.
However, Ali Zafar said in this regard that he is being trapped under a well-thought-out conspiracy.
The case of Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi is under hearing for the last one and a half years, in which the statements of 12 witnesses presented by Ali Zafar have been recorded so far.
The witnesses presented in the court had denied the allegations of Meesha Shafi, now the court has summoned Meesha Shafi and his witnesses on October 7.
