  • Roger Federer is set to return to Wimbledon.

  • The superstar is to be used as an expert and co-commentator.

  • The talks with the English broadcaster “BBC” are said to have progressed.

Roger Federer ended his great career last November. At the Laver Cup in London he played his last game alongside his eternal rival and friend Rafael Nadal. The pictures of the crying Federer went around the world. Despite his tennis retirement, the Maestro is a busy man.

Two weeks ago, the 41-year-old showed himself skiing and at the end of January he attended Paris Fashion Week with his wife Mirka. The 20-time Grand Slam winner hung in for an art installation underwear from the ceiling. Now the superstar should also get a job in the summer. According to the British newspaper “The Telegraph”, Federer will probably be used as an expert in Wimbledon.

BBC and ESPN collaboration

The talks between the maestro and the English broadcaster BBC are already at an advanced stage, the newspaper said. Federer should act as a co-commentator and as an expert. But not only the British fans would enjoy Federer. A cooperation with the US sports broadcaster ESPN is apparently also planned.

He should comment for the BBC and ESPN and be available as an expert. However, Federer will not work every day, rest days are also planned for the superstar. A cooperation with both broadcasters makes sense – so ESPN and BBC can share the fee.

How high this will be is not known. John McEnroe, American, multiple Grand Slam winner and longtime TV expert, is said to pocket around 180,000 francs. Difficult to imagine that Federer will receive less.
