Aryadan Muhammad, who was a Samantha Congress leader who took a secular political stand, was active in the field of organization by organizing the plantation workers. Initially, the rubber plantation workers of Munderi were organized and traveled 38 km through the forest from Nilambur. He became active in the Congress in 1945 when he heard Muhammad Abdurrahiman Sahib’s speech at Chantakunni. Aryadan Muhammad (87), who was a four-time Kerala minister and eight-time Nilambur MLA for 34 years, died in a private hospital in Kozhikode. While still a student of Nilambur Manavedan High School, Vidyathi got attracted to the Congress. When the first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru came to Nilambur in 1953, Aryadan Muhammad worked as a volunteer. Aryathan Manavedan was also active in the field of arts and sports and was the captain of the school football team. He was active in politics during his studies. In 1956, he was elected as the General Secretary of the Vandur Farka Congress Committee, which included present-day Nilambur and Vandur constituencies. Later he became active in the field of labor organization.
