Artur Beterbiev made an important statement before the fight with Bivol

Canadian boxer intends to become the absolute light heavyweight champion, reports sportarena.kz

At a press conference dedicated to the main event of the boxing evening on October 12 in Riyadh, Artur Beterbiev answered a couple of interesting questions from journalists:

– Arthur, you have an incredible record, no champion has your achievements. You knocked out everyone who entered the ring with you and your team is sure that this time you will do the same. But tell me, how important is the absolute championship for you?

– First of all, I would like to thank Riyadh Season, his excellency, for organizing this fight. Thanks to my team, Top Rank, my opponent and everyone involved. For me, this is the highest achievement in professional boxing. When you have all four belts and I want to earn one more – the fourth.

– Does the fact that your opponent is Dmitry Bivol have any special significance?

– Every opponent is unique, every person is unique. And he is also special, but we are ready for him, we are ready for this fight. We are ready for different scenarios.

– I want to ask about the injury. From the outside it seemed like it was very serious. Have you fully recovered and will we see Artur Beterbiev ready 100 percent, without excuses?

– Yes, because I always prepare 100 percent. If I’m not in that state, not fully prepared, I won’t do it.

– Your prediction for the fight. Do you have a prediction for the fight? No one has lived to the final bell with you, do you think that this can happen on October 12?

– I don’t give predictions, and I never aim for knockouts. It happens on its own. But I’m more focused on other details. For example, on preparing well and getting positive results for myself.
