THE Jimbafest 2024 arts and culture event: Music, Art & Bali Charm will be held on 26-27 October 2024 at Jimbaran Hub, Bali. This activity, which involves artists, communities and people from all walks of life, is an important moment in expressing creativity and Balinese cultural identity through various works of art and activities.

Not just an arts and culture festival, Jimbafest 2024 initiates a joint movement to care more about Bali’s sustainability by preserving its nature and culture.

Visitors can enjoy two meaningful days with various works of art, ranging from musical performances, fine arts, dance and various other programs.

Jimbafest 2024 presents special artists and communities such as The Adams, Soulvibe, and Pamungkas. Apart from that, Dwiki Dharmawan, Indonesian jazz maestro, will collaborate on a special project with Neida Aleida and senior Balinese musicians.

This collaboration is designed as a creative campaign that inspires the public about the urgency of preserving Bali’s nature and culture through inspirational music.

Jimbafest 2024 has a more specific focus by highlighting current issues, especially the condition of Bali which continues to experience changes from various sides. One of them is the tourism sector.

Even though the tourism sector contributes greatly to the economy in Bali, its impact on the environment also needs attention. These include traffic jams, environmental degradation, scarcity of clean water, cultural erosion and waste management.

Jimbaran Hijau CEO and Jimbafest Founder Putu Agung Prianta explained that Jimbafest 2024 will convey and depict Bali’s natural and cultural conditions honestly through an artistic perspective.

“We hope that every work presented at Jimbafest will speak and raise awareness about the beauty and challenges facing Bali today,” said Agung in an official statement, Saturday (26/10).

For this reason, Agung really appreciates the participation of the artists who enlivened the Jimbafest 2024 event. It is considered that their work will not only inspire the local community, but also has the potential to echo the message of preserving Bali’s culture and environment on the world stage.

“We believe that art has the power to connect people from various backgrounds, creating bridges to voice important issues that must be a shared responsibility,” added Agung.

One of the creative expressions of artists shown at Jimbafest 2024 is the Crisis fine art exhibition. This activity involved the works of 13 artists offering in-depth interpretations of the problems and challenges currently facing Bali and the global situation.

Artists from Indonesia who displayed their work include Made Wianta, Made Bayak, Gilang Propagila, Jango Pramartha, Wayan Upadana and Arkiv Vilmansa. The artists from Australia who participated included Paul Trinidad, Jon Terry, Jerremy Blank, Antony Muia, and Vladimir Todorovic. Then there is also Stephan Spicher who is an artist from Switzerland.

Crisis Visual Art Exhibition curator Yudha Bantono said that the works of the artists involved in the exhibition all showed strength in bringing important ideas to the issue of sustainability in Bali and the world. Apart from aiming to build a space for critical communication and as a reminder, this exhibition is expected to build a space of awareness for visitors to Jimbafest 2024 and the wider Balinese community.

“Through these works, it is hoped that the wider audience can understand the meaning behind the artist’s actions and respond to global situations that are not always visible, but have a significant impact,” said Yudha. (Ifa)
