– More than 80 galleries gathered for the 12th edition of artgenève
The artgenève exhibition returns from January 25 to 28 with international cultural diversity. Many cultural institutions will be there.

The 12th edition of the artgenève international trade fair will take place from Wednesday January 25 to Sunday January 28 at Palexpo. Nearly 80 modern and contemporary art galleries will exhibit their works and numerous spaces will be devoted to institutional and private collections.
“With 70% foreign galleries coming from thirteen countries, including the United States, China and Canada, artgenève is establishing itself as a leading event for dealers and collectors, while highlighting the importance of Switzerland on the art market,” indicates the new director Charlotte Diwan, quoted in a press release. This show is open to the public.
The regional institutional landscape will be represented in particular by MAMCO Geneva, with its “in course of acquisition” stand. The Museum of Art and History, the Cantonal and Municipal Funds of Geneva, the Valais Art Museum and the Grand Théâtre de Genève will also be on site. Art schools in the region, including HEAD, will also have stands.
For this 12th edition, artgenève offers a new space dedicated to unique works and large-format installations. The chosen works explore the theme of amusement parks, featuring rides, slides, trompe-l’oeil panoramas, buggy circuits, as well as bear fights and the presence of aliens and characters from fairy tales.
Holograms
Finally, a new section offers thirteen personal exhibitions. One of the works from the award-winning stand will be acquired and offered to a Geneva institution. Also note, musical performances in holograms produced by the Orchester de la Suisse Romande (OSR) which will be discovered during this major meeting for lovers of contemporary and modern art.
This 12th edition will open as Courrier et Bilan has just revealed the filing of a criminal complaint targeting the former director of the event who was fired last summer. This man, who oversaw the first eleven editions, is suspected of fraud, unfair management and forgery in titles.
