Abu Dhabi ∙ Art therapy is gaining acceptance as it heals through art and creativity. The art therapy conference, which started yesterday in Abu Dhabi, said that art therapy, which is a treatment method that effectively deals with physical and mental challenges, is growing rapidly in the world. Art therapy classes have proven to be beneficial not only for people with disabilities but also for character development in young children and those who have suffered from aggression or accidents. The first day focused on workshops on children’s mental health. Experts from different countries such as US, Australia, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar led the seminar and workshop.

Expert Carol Hummel from Egypt explained how art can be used to reduce trauma and build resilience by understanding the emotions of children and women. She also introduced a special program developed for women victims of violence. He also shared experiences that led to healing through drawing. Along with music, drama, dance and movement therapy, art therapy can also bring invaluable benefits. The conference was organized by the Abu Dhabi Center for Sheltering and Humanitarian Care.
Director General Sara Shuhail said that art therapy can be used without discrimination of country, language, color and caste. This will benefit individuals and society. Riyadh King Saud University professor Dr. Awad Alyami said.
Social Development Department Chairman Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Abu Dhabi Executive Council Member and Chairman of Culture and Tourism Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Foreign Affairs Associate Minister Noora Al Kaabi, United Nations Institute for Social Development Board Member Hanif Al Qasim, Pure Health Group Co-Founder Sheista Asif and many other dignitaries attended the opening ceremony.
