The La Mercè Cultural Center in Girona starts the year with an exhibition by the artist Delphine Labedan on the Pyrenees and a new edition of the Art and Philosophy cycle: looking with the word, as well as an event dedicated to Narcís Comadira, which this January turns eighty.
Within the programming of the Municipal School of Arts, the exhibition of Labedan Paysages Intérieurs stands out, a song to the nature and the native landscape of the artist, the Pyrenees that will be inaugurated on January 27 and can be visited until on March 18th. The Municipal School of Art has other exhibitions planned, such as conTactes. A look at the gesture of Jordi Muñoz; Dido by the multidisciplinary artist Anna Ill, who arrives in Girona in collaboration with the Vila Casas Foundation; or the artistic project Sculptures in the Cloister, which will show the work of the Portuguese Gil Gelpi and the Italian Sasha Vinci.
As for the programming of the Municipal School of Humanities, it will begin its activity with the Trias Club of essay reading, organized jointly with the Ferrater Mora Chair of the University of Girona, and a new edition of the cycle Art and philosophy between February and March. Organized with the Casa de Cultura, the cycle consists of six sessions divided between the two facilities, to reflect on six works of art by artists from different eras and the great philosophical challenges they pose. It will feature the participation of Jordi Balló, Ester Jordana, Àngel Quintana, Laura Llevador, Íngrid Guardiola and Joan Fontcuberta.
The Bòlit cycle will continue programming. Pensamiento, made in collaboration with the Center for Contemporary Art of Girona and will close the winter program Narcís Comadira: Six decades of poetry (1966-2022), a conversation of the poet with the writer Esteve Miralles, under the pretext of the publication of the book Narcís Comadira, by Esteve Miralles: Les ipseïtats poétiques de Narcís Comadira and Els moviments humans, the nineteenth book of poetry by the Girona author, to address the keys to his career.
