An event from the Art After Five series, which combines poetry and art, will take place on Friday, May 5, at 5 p.m. in the Tuttlingen City Gallery. In combination with lyrical texts by various authors, art lovers can immerse themselves in Georgia Russell’s unique visual world.

According to the organizers, the following authors have been selected for the reading: Virginia Woolf, Rainer Maria Rilke, Kurt Schwitters, Robert Lax, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Hugo von Hofmannsthal, Novalis, Paul Grass, Rose Auslander, Joseph von Eichendorff, Tomas Tranströmer, Tsangaris , James Krüss, Mascha Kaleko.

What is special regarding Russell’s works is that the artist cut them out of paper or canvas with a scalpel. Just as a poet carefully chooses his words and forms sentences, she works with precision, rhythm and awareness of form to create multi-layered objects that can be experienced. Her works bring back memories of experiences in nature.

Nicholas Fox Weber, impressed by Georgia Russell’s art, wrote: “You have entered an art field that invites you to throw off your old habits, to break free from them. Let yourself be carried away: these walks on untrodden paths are wonderful. The purest splendor!”.

Ingrid Schorscher and Daniel Erfle were engaged for the poetic walk through the exhibition, who will present selected texts in scenic alternation and direct attention to various works by Georgia Russell. Admission is seven euros.
