League Plus – English press reports revealed that Arsenal is trying in various ways to sign Declan Rice, captain of West Ham United, in the current summer Mercato.

Arsenal have made a third bid for West Ham United captain Declan Rice, sources have confirmed to 90 Minutes, with a total value of £105m.

And if the deal is completed, it will exceed what Manchester City paid Aston Villa for Jack Grealish in 2021.

Arsenal had been leading the hunt for Rice all summer but saw two bids worth up to £90m rejected. West Ham demanded more than 100 million pounds for the duration of the negotiations.

As Manchester City made a £90m bid earlier on Tuesday, which West Ham also rejected, Arsenal returned with a third bid to press hard for the deal.

The offer is valued at £105m, with a £100m guarantee and an additional £5m in add-ons.

Arsenal are working quickly to give Mikel Arteta the team he needs for another title challenge in 2024 and they are already close to securing deals for Chelsea’s Kai Havertz and Ajax’s Joren Timber, who might potentially cost more than £100m.

That figure might soon be north of £200m in a matter of days if West Ham accept Rice’s offer.

Rice has already agreed personal terms with Arsenal, having made it clear to all parties that a move to the Emirates Stadium was his preferred move this summer.
