Success in the game against Sheffield United allowed the Gunners to close in on Liverpool and Manchester City.
Arsenal Ukrainian Oleksandr Zinchenko was crushed on the way out “Sheffield United” in the final match of the 27th round of the English Premier League (EPL). The match at the Bramall Lane stadium in Sheffield ended with a score of 0:6.
Mikel Arteta’s men decided the fate of the meeting in the first half, hitting the opponent’s goal five times.
The Gunners’ captain opened the scoring in the 5th minute of the game Martin Edegore. In the 13th minute, the home defender scored an own goal Jayden Bogle. Two minutes later, the London club scored Gabriel Martinelli.
At the 25th minute Kai Haverts became the author of the fourth goal of “Harmash” in this match, and in the 39th minute scored a productive blow Declan Rice.
The second half of the match was less rich in goals. At the 58th minute Ben White scored the sixth goal against the hosts, which ended up being the last in this confrontation.
Note that Zinchenko was not included in the London team’s application for this game. The Ukrainian continues to recover from a calf muscle injury.

Interestingly, “Sheffield United” has set an anti-record. They are the first team in the history of the English Football League to concede 5+ goals in four consecutive home matches in all competitions.
After this victory, “Arsenal” (61 points) occupies the third place in the Premier League standings. Arteta’s team is one point behind Manchester City and two behind leaders Liverpool. “Sheffield United” (13 points) is on the last, 20th step.
In the next round of the English championship, “Arsenal” will host “Brentford” of Ukrainian midfielder Yehor Yarmolyuk on March 9, and “Sheffield United” will visit “Bournemouth” of Ukrainian defender Ilya Zabarny on the same day.
