Alexander Isak – who has a groin problem and might be forced into surgery following the season – played from the start but was goalless and substituted in the 64th minute.

The consolation goal was scored instead by a former Arsenal player – Joe Willock.

Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka missed missed the game due to illness and Loris Karius had to make his first start in over six months.

Nothing went further, but Newcastle continues to leak like a sieve.

In the last four games, they have conceded 13 goals.

– It is not good enough. We are disappointed, says Kieran Trippier to Viaplay.

Liverpool top the Premier League on 60 points, Manchester City (who beat Bournemouth 1–0) are second on 59 and Arsenal third on 58.

– We must continue to win games and put pressure on the teams in front of us, says Kai Havertz.
