Officials from different security agencies arrested a woman who kept chained to her 6-year-old daughter, on the island of Margarita, Nueva Esparta state. The events occurred on San Francisco street in the Genovés sector, in the city of Porlamar.
Neighbors of Carla Valera, 24 years old, alerted to an irregular situation to the officers because they presumed that in the room where he lived, and which he had rented for some time, something was happening.
Arriving at the place, the uniformed officers found the girl who, in addition to being chained, was in a state of malnutritionreviewed Margaret’s Sun. In this case, Omar Pérez, 57 years old, a sentimental partner of Valera, was also apprehended.
Valera also frequently hit the minor. A neighbor assured that the girl had a significant wound on her right leg, where she was tied up; and that in addition slept on the floor near fecal waste. “From what was observed, they had not been collected for several days,” reported the local newspaper.
A maternal aunt of the girl requested her custody. The State Council for Children and Adolescents took charge of the case. The couple is detained and will be handed over to the District Attorney’s Office. Public ministry.
