In 2016, Australian authorities handcuffed Isabelle Lagacé and Mélina Roberge – as well as an older man – following an impressive drug seizure, one of the largest in this country, aboard a luxury cruise ship anchored in Sydney Harbour. The two young women, who had made a dream journey of two months abundantly documented on their social networks, were then imprisoned in the land of kangaroos. After several years behind bars, they were able to return home.

These arrests had made headlines around the world and Isabelle, who was involved in this international drug trafficking network as a “mule”, recounts the many twists and turns of this adventure in the three episodes of the series, which will be available from December 2 on Crave.

Produced by Urbania and Connect 3 Media, in collaboration with Bell Media, “Cocaine, prison and likes: the real story of Isabelle” is directed by Sébastien Trahan. The series will also be available in English.

“Without filter”

As for her, the Granbyienne Mélina Roberge, who was 22 years old when she was arrested in Australia, decided to recount her experience in the book “Without filter”, published last September by Éditions du Journal and which she co-signed with the journalist Claudia Berthiaume of the “Journal de Montréal”.
