The Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested until December 2 the head of the Dagestan Kizilyurt Magomed Magomedov and the head of the Department of the Ministry of Sports of Dagestan Khalitbeg Makhachev in the case of embezzlement on a particularly large scale in the field of sports. This was reported by the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction in Moscow.
“By the decision of the Basmanny District Court of Moscow dated October 4, a preventive measure was chosen once morest Magomed Magomedov, <…>. Set the period of detention for one month and twenty-nine days,” says the message published in telegram channel “Moscow courts of general jurisdiction”. The mayor of Kizilyurt is accused of multimillion-dollar embezzlement of budget funds when he was head of the department of physical culture, sports and reserve training of the Ministry of Sports of Dagestan, Halitbeg Makhachev.
The trial took place behind closed doors. The Investigative Committee asked for this in order to maintain the secrecy of the investigation.
The mayor of Kizilyurt Magomed Magomedov was detained in Dagestan on October 3. Security forces work in the administration. The reasons for the arrest and other details were not disclosed.
