Arrest of a 2nd class gendarme in an armed robbery case involving a motorcycle. – Air Info

Aïr Info has learned that yesterday Thursday, February 23, 2023 in the morning, a 2nd class gendarme with the initials FO, serving at the Agadez squadron, was arrested in an armed robbery case involving a motorcycle declared stolen. on the night of February 16 to 17, 2023 in the Sabon Gari district of Agadez.

According to the cross-checks made by Aïr Info, the owner of the motorcycle declared having been intercepted on the night of February 16 by two men, one of whom was dressed in military uniform armed with an AK 47 and the other in civilian clothes. “They threatened me with their weapon before taking my Royal brand motorcycle chassis N° 26376, red in color, worth about 500,000 FCFA”, specified the owner of the stolen motorcycle.

Yesterday around 10 a.m., the owner of the motorbike saw it in the Katanga district of Agadez, being driven by a gendarme.
Having formally identified his motorcycle, he pursued the gendarme and using the emergency remote control stopped the engine.
He asked the gendarme to give him details of the origin of the motorcycle. Then followed a long exchange which ended at the Agadez police station.

In front of the police, the owner exhibited all his evidence: the sales receipt, the declaration of theft bearing the chassis number, the remote control of the motorcycle.

Confounded by all this evidence, the gendarme declared that the motorcycle, object of dispute, actually belongs to one of his colleagues in service in front of a local bank.
The latter, arrested in turn, will claim that the said motorcycle belongs to one of his friends, named IM, who, according to him, is on a trip. This was quickly denied after investigation.
One thing leading to another, the noose of the investigations will close on the gendarme of 2nd class FO, currently in police custody in Agadez for further investigation.
