Arrest in Linz: 18-year-old hit police officer in the face

In the course of an official act, an 18-year-old from the Eferding district resisted state authority and injured a policewoman. She was arrested.

LINZ. On January 13, 2023 at 6:05 p.m., an 18-year-old from the Eferding district was arrested by police officers following she resisted state violence and suffered serious bodily harm and was taken to the Linz police detention center. The young woman hit a policewoman in the face with the back of her hand during an official act at the station square. The injured police officer was taken to the hospital.

Accused confessed, but not remorsefully

During the interrogation, the accused confessed, but was by no means remorseful. As a motive, the 18-year-old stated that she wanted to see her boyfriend, who was being treated by the police. The accused was transferred to the Linz prison by order of the Linz public prosecutor’s office.
