On the evening of February 9, the Investigation Police Agency (Da Nang city police) served the decision to prosecute the accused, executed arrest warrants for Hoang Quang Huy (born in 1989, residing in Hoa Xuan ward, Cam Le district, Da Nang city) and Lam Thi Hong Tam (born in 1973) , residing in Hoa Khue ward, Thanh Khe district, Da Nang city) for the crime of “Embezzlement of property.”
According to initial information, Hoang Quang Huy is the Head of the Department of Planning and Finance, the university University of Science and Technology – University of Danang and Lam Thi Hong Tam is the Treasurer of the University of Science and Technology – the University of Danang.
Through investigation of the Da Nang Police, it was determined that, from a close working relationship, in early 2021, Tam asked Huy to “borrow” VND 500 million from the fund of the University of Technology to solve personal problems.
Because the school’s cash fund is not enough, Tam asked Huy’s permission to withdraw money from the school Bank account school.

On the evening of the same day, the Public Security Agency executed a search warrant for the residence of the two aforementioned subjects and seized many documents and evidences related to the case.
The case is currently under investigation by the authorities.
