Around 600 companies owe more than Kz 400 million to the INSS – Jornal OPaís

More than 400 million kwanzas were not deposited/delivered to the National Social Security Institute (INSS) by companies forced to deduct 3% of their workers’ monthly income, in the province of Lunda Sul, with a view to ensuring their respective retirement pensions. collaborators

According to the head of the INSS provincial service in Lunda-Sul, Francisco Ngueve, 658 companies have already been notified in a situation of default, but only 70 have paid their employees’ monthly installments, worth 17 million, 840 thousand and 522 kwanzas.

When speaking at the seminar on the process of executing debts to mandatory social protection, promoted by the INSS, the person responsible recalled that the notified companies had already been made aware and had the opportunity to benefit from the exemption from interest and fines.

Furthermore, he recalled, companies also had the possibility of carrying out voluntary regularization, by concluding an agreement that allows the debt to be paid in installments.

Despite these incentives, Francisco Ngueve said that there are still managers who do not fulfill their duties, a fact that will force the INSS to collect coercively and demand payment of the debt immediately.

In case of impossibility or resistance from companies, he clarified, the assets of employers may be seized. He also mentioned that the debt can be negotiated between the parties, if the debtor pays his monthly contributions on time.

In the seminar that was attended by 100 public and private managers, as well as employees from various companies, the head of the INSS provincial service in Lunda-Sul said that the event aimed to clarify to managers and public servants regarding their duties and responsibilities in the payment of social security, a fact that guarantees the survival of families.

In turn, the deputy governor for the political, economic and social sector of Lunda-Sul, Mendes Gaspar, called on seminar participants to absorb knowledge responsibly, so that they can disseminate it correctly.

He recalled that the payment of workers’ social security is an obligation of the employer, so that workers can benefit from their rights at retirement age without any constraints.

The INSS in Lunda Sul only works in two municipalities: Saurimo and Cacolo, with the municipalities of Muconda and Dala missing.

The provincial services of the National Social Security Institute (INSS) in Lunda Sul control 1,826 public and private companies, with a total of 39,50 workers.
