The Army destroyed four antipersonnel mines that were placed on a path used by residents and authorities in a rural area of Segovia, Antioquia.
The incident occurred in the Cancha Manila area, in compliance with the Ayacucho Plan, where authorities discovered antipersonnel mines installed by armed groups fighting over the territory.
Public order
The commander of the Fourteenth Army Brigade, Colonel José Vicente Ávila, confirmed the controlled destruction of the illegal explosives.
“National Army troops located and destroyed an area prepared with explosives, which were apparently installed by organized armed groups that commit crimes in that region. That area was located at a crossroads, attacking the civilian population.” Indian.
The Army and the Explosives and Demolitions Group (EXDE) were in charge of the controlled detonation.

Authorities continue to work to provide care and security to communities. They also invited citizens to report acts of terrorism to the Military Gaula Line 147.
It should be remembered that this incident occurred following the death of six soldiers and another four wounded when they fell into anti-personnel mines in the municipality of Valdivia, Antioquia.
