Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir met with the Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Meshaal Al Jaber Al Sabah during his official visit to the Gulf state.

According to the report of the Kuwaiti news agency ‘Kona’, along with the army chief, a delegation consisting of caretaker law minister Ahmed Irfan Aslam, Pakistani ambassador to Kuwait Malik Muhammad Farooq and other officials was also present.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar Haq Kakar, who is on a tour of the Middle East, also arrived in Kuwait last night to strengthen ties with the Gulf state.

According to the press release issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister will meet with the Crown Prince and his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Ahmed Al Nouf Al Ahmad Al Sabah today.

During the meeting, the leaders are expected to sign several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) on cooperation in various sectors including manpower, information technology, minerals and mining, food security, energy and defence.

The Prime Minister’s Office says that this visit will usher in a new era of economic cooperation between the two countries.

It added that 2023 marked the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Kuwait.
