Army Chief and Iranian Foreign Minister meeting, discussing important issues

The Iranian Foreign Minister met Army Chief General Asim Munir in which it was agreed on the need to deal with the common threat of terrorism through intelligence sharing. During the meeting, Army Chief General Asim Munir emphasized on respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of other states.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army, ISPR, in the meeting, the parties emphasized the need to promote bilateral relations and to understand each other’s concerns more.

On this occasion, the Army Chief said that respect for the sovereignty of another state is the most important component in state relations. According to ISPR, the parties agreed that there is a need to deal with the common threat of terrorism through mutual cooperation and better coordination.

It was agreed in the meeting that the common threat of terrorism needs to be tackled through intelligence sharing. The Army Chief stressed the need to use sustainable and available means of communication to address security concerns.

The parties agreed to improve coordination and response to common threats. According to the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army, the parties reiterated their commitment to peace, stability and prosperity in the border region on both sides.

Both sides expressed determination that peace in the border region is indispensable for the welfare of the people on both sides.

In the meeting, Pakistan and Iran reiterated their resolve to maintain close ties while vowing not to allow the troublemaker to create a rift between the brotherly countries.
