The Armenian Defense Ministry stated that early on the morning of May 11, Azerbaijani servicemen opened artillery fire in the direction of the village of Sotk. Later, the department reported that as of 07:00 (06:00 Moscow time), two Armenian soldiers were wounded. The Azerbaijani side has not yet commented on the situation.
“On May 11, from 06:00, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire from artillery and mortars on Armenian positions located in the direction of Sotk,” the site departments.
Sotk village is located in Gegharkunik region. On September 13, 2022, the Azerbaijani military launched an offensive once morest Armenian positions in Syunik, Vayots Dzor and Gegharkunik. Fights were going on in different directions, including in the direction of the villages of Sotk, Vardenis, Artanish, Goris, Kapan, Jermuk, Ishkhanasar. On the evening of September 14, the parties agreed to a ceasefire.
On May 14, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev are due to meet in Brussels. They will discuss the negotiation of a peace treaty through the mediation of the head of the European Council, Charles Michel. After that, their negotiations will be held in Chisinau.
