PORTLAND, Ore. – Uptown residents were sheltering in at home Tuesday morning as authorities search for an armed robbery suspect in the Overlook neighborhood.

According to police, the incident began around 5:30 a.m. with reports of at least four armed robberies along North Interstate Avenue.

During one of those robberies, the suspect assaulted several people and one victim needed to be hospitalized.

In another incident, the suspect allegedly fired a weapon multiple times without injuring anyone, authorities said.

Portland police established a perimeter from North Colonial to North Concord, and from Going Court to Blandena Street.

For this reason, Beach Elementary began its school day with a delay of two hours.

After 8:40 am, the police managed to arrest the man. Additional details will be released later.
