Armed group kidnaps 12 bricklayers in Nuevo León

WORLD.- An armed group kidnapped 12 bricklayers in Nuevo Leónas reported this Sunday by the Attorney General’s Office of said entity in the midst of a streak of mass kidnappings by organized crime.

The events occurred in the municipality of Anahuacwhere regarding eight armed men arrived at the place where the workers were to kidnap them.

The radio station of the Public Secretariat of the City Council received the report of the kidnapping of the 12 men.

Preliminarily, the authorities indicated that all would be employees of a construction company. They arrived at the site regarding eight men with firearms who took their victims to an unknown destination.

One of the hypotheses is that the criminals would have taken them to Nuevo Laredoa municipality in the neighboring state of Tamaulipas that is on the border with the United States.

The Prosecutor’s Office, which did not provide the motives for the crime, stated that due to the events it opened an investigation file.

Mass kidnappings in northern Mexico

The events occur amid a streak of mass kidnappings by organized crime in Mexico. Last month They kidnapped 32 people in Nuevo Leónin the municipalities of Salinas Victoria and Ciénega de Flores, already 66 in Culiacán and MazatlánIn Sinaloa.

The civil association Stop Kidnapping reported last week the “historic” figure of 521 people kidnapped last March in Mexico, of which 262, more than half, are migrants.
