Ukrainian defenders are increasingly noticing Chinese components in Russian weapons. This indicates that the Russian Federation is using China to circumvent Western sanctions. At the same time, Chinese politicians can still formally rightly state that they are not transferring weapons to Russia.
Chinese components are massively replacing Swiss parts in Orlan drones and French parts in tank fire control systems. The relevant data was confirmed by senior adviser to the head of the OPU Vladislav Vlasyuk:
“Cases of detection of Chinese components in Russian weapons have really become more frequent. The Russian Federation finds new ways to circumvent sanctions, this creates challenges for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
