Arki Dikania Vishnu (DOC SM PERTAMINA)

THE CAPTAIN of the Satria Muda (SM) Pertamina Jakarta team, Arki Dikania Wisnu, has decided to say goodbye to the professional basketball team that has raised him for approximately 13 years. Arki ended his collaboration with Satria Muda after his contract expired this season.

“Thank you for 13 years of Satria Muda Pertamina Jakarta, I say goodbye,” said Arki, Friday (4/10).

Currently, Arki is in New York City, at Elmhurst Queen, the place where he was born and raised. While in New York, Hilyani Hidranto’s husband continued to maintain his condition by playing basketball in the Queens area. So far Arki has not decided whether he will move to America with his family or whether he will return to playing in the IBL with a different jersey.

“After my contract expired this season, I returned to New York to be able to think calmly while thinking about where Arki wanted to go in the future and also hand over everything to my manager,” he added.

The basketball player who was born in New York on March 15 1988 did not forget to express his deepest gratitude to the management and also to Satria Muda fans and prayed that SM would always achieve even though he was no longer with him.

“Allow me to express my deepest gratitude to Mr. Erick Thohir, all the coaches and coaching staff who have trained me, as well as the management of SM, as well as all the players who have been on the same team as me, the sponsors of Satria Muda, and others. “Forgetting all the SM Fanatics supporters who have always been with me and all the players, both when we went through good times and bad,” he said again.

Arki is part of Satria Muda’s success. Joining in 2011, Arki became one of the pillars and icons of the Satria Muda players and left a legacy for the SM team with a multitude of achievements. Among other things, they brought Satria Muda to the 2012 NBL champions as well as becoming the best newcomer player and even winning the MVP title in the final.

He has won five Indonesian basketball league titles from both the NBL and IBL together, including once winning the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) in the 2011-2012 season (Indonesia Warriors).

While strengthening the national team, Arki also succeeded in collecting 2 silverware at the SEA Games. Ultimately, Arki and his friends succeeded in declaring Indonesia Raya at the 2021 SEA Games in Vietnam. For the first time history was created, Indonesia won gold by beating the regular champion, the Philippines.

“Leaving the Satria Muda house was honestly a very difficult decision for me, because there were so many beautiful memories there,” he concluded. (S-1)
