CAPTAIN of Satria Muda Pertamina Jakarta Arki Dikania Wisnu said that losing in the final match of the 2024 Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) was indeed painful, so he used the experience as motivation to rise again next season.
As is known, Satria Muda lost to Pelita Jaya Jakarta 1-2 in the best of three and home-away format which took place on Thursday (1/8), Saturday (3/8), and Sunday (4/8).
“We have to remember everything about this feeling, because this feeling of defeat can be used as motivation. We have to be able to rise again in the next season,” said the 36-year-old player.
Although it was painful, he said, the experience of losing should be the main motivation to achieve better results in the following season.
However, on the other hand, he felt happy because his team was able to reach the IBL finals again, after only reaching the semifinals in the 2023 season.
Meanwhile, Arki was said to have performed differently and better in the IBL playoffs, compared to the regular round. But the senior forward did not feel any difference and only played according to the coach’s instructions.

“Nothing is different, I just play according to the task given. I don’t want to try to be a superstar,” said the Indonesian national basketball team player.
In the 2024 IBL regular season, Arki played 25 times out of a total of 26 matches, with an average playing time of 16.5 minutes per game.
His average contribution is 3.8 points per game (ppg), 2.6 rebounds per game (rpg), and 1.8 steals per game (spg). Arki’s most points in the regular season were 12 points, which was during the match against Dewa United Banten, on January 14.
However, in the playoffs, Arki performed differently. His points average was 5.6 ppg. His minutes also increased to 18.8 in eight playoff games.
In fact, he managed to score 16 points in game 1 of the semifinals against Dewa United. (Z-6)
