The Senate of the state in the southwest of the USA voted on Wednesday to repeal the law following the House of Representatives there had already voted once morest the law last week.
Arizona’s 160-year-old law imposed a near-total ban on abortion, even in cases of rape or incest. Doctors who perform abortions should also be punished with up to five years in prison.
Former President Donald Trump’s conservative Republicans have a majority in both chambers in the Arizona legislature. The majorities once morest the law came regarding because some Republicans voted alongside lawmakers from President Joe Biden’s Democratic Party.
