Arizona, California, Connecticut and Texas, the US states that sell the most weapons to Mexico: Ebrard – Ríodoce

The Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard, announced during the High-Level Security Dialogue in the United States the 10 counties that sell the most weapons to organized crime in Mexico.

During his joint press conference between Mexico and the United States on the Bicentennial Understanding strategy, the Mexican foreign minister showed two maps to the attendees in relation to arms trafficking, reported Aristegui News.

First, it showed a map that revealed the Mexican municipalities in which weapons manufactured and sold in the United States have been seized and that end up in the hands of organized crime.

In the map -previously consulted by the Secretary of State of the United States, Antony Blinken- it can be seen that weapons manufactured in the United States were seized mostly in northern Mexico.

On social networks, Ebrard explained that the registration of the seizure of weapons was in accordance with what was seized by the Secretaries of National Defense (Sedena), the Navy (Semar), the National Guard, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) and local authorities. .

Ebrard showed a second map that reveals the 10 US counties with the highest sales of weapons to organized crime, including the gun shops sued by Mexico in Arizona.

In what the foreign minister stated, it can be seen that the states of Arizona, California, Connecticut and Texas are the main arms dealers in our country.

The US counties with the highest sales to criminal organizations are Hartford, Connecticut (1,656); Maricopa in Arizona (1,482); Harris, Texas (1,156); Hampden, Massachusetts (895); Pima, Arizona (707); Los Angeles, California (637); Dallas, Texas (637); El Paso, Texas (553); Bexar, Texas (499) and Orange, Texas (487).

In Mexico, the armed and law enforcement forces have seized more than 32,000 weapons, 17 million cartridges and 2,300 grenades since 2019. United States law enforcement agencies seized more than 600,000 firearms in 2021, according to a SRE statement.
