PHOENIX (AP) — Pavin Smith hit a three-run homer, Zac Gallen had another strong start and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Atlanta Braves 6-2 on Monday night.
The Diamondbacks snapped a four-game losing streak following being swept by the Dodgers over the weekend.
Arizona took a 6-2 lead in the fifth and drove in three runs a few minutes following manager Torey Lovullo was ejected from the game for arguing.
Gallen (4-0) allowed four runs in 5 2/3 innings and struck out six.
Spencer Strider (1-2) took the loss in his first start for the Braves following 13 appearances in which he came out of the bullpen. He allowed five runs in 4 1/3 innings, struck out seven and walked two.
Austin Riley homered for Atlanta, his 12th this season.
For the Braves, Venezuelan Ronald Acuña 4-1 with a run scored; William Contreras 1-0. The Dominican Marcell Ozuna 4-1.
For the Diamondbacks, the Dominicans Ketel Marte 3-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs; Geraldo Perdomo 3-1. Venezuelan David Peralta 4-2 with a run scored and an RBI; José Herrera 3-1 with a run scored.
