The president of Argentina, Alberto Fernandezspoke this Thursday, April 7, regarding what is happening in Peru during a press conference with his Bolivian counterpart, Luis Arce.
A journalist asked Arce and, once the Bolivian leader finished his statement, Fernández intervened to express his position also as president ‘pro tempore’ of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac).
“With President Arce we spent a good time talking regarding the issue of Peru, It is an issue that worries us (…) days ago I also talked regarding it with the president (of Chile, Gabriel) BoricFernandez said.

He considered that what happened in the country “is an issue that should draw the attention of the full Latin American community” and that is why “I have asked the attention of all Latin American leaders for what is happening in Peru.”
“In Peru, an attempt was made to remove the president peter castle more than once and they did not obtain the necessary votes in Congress to do so and when they failed in that attempt, they generated a state and a social climate that today is putting President Castillo’s institutional situation in crisis,” he said.
Fernández, who has advocated closer ties between the nations of the region, was “very explicit” in his “concern” regarding recent events and analyzed “how the community of democratic governments in Latin America can make some kind of more expressive clear”.

The goal is “preserve the institutionality of Peru, which is what worries us the most, we are concerned as much as what happens in the streets and with what happens with the disorders, and with the loss of life”.
