Argentines woke up in shock this Friday following Vice President Cristina Kirchner miraculously escaped an assassination attempt on her doorstep Thursday night, where an attacker’s loaded pistol failed to fire.
Kirchner, who governed the country between 2007 and 2015, was unharmed because the weapon carried by the aggressor, later identified as the Brazilian citizen Fernando Andres Sabag Montiel35, did not shoot himself despite being loaded with five bullets.
According to the Argentine portal Infobae, those who frequented Sabag Montiel knew him by his old nickname, “Tedi”, a boy from Villa del Parque who lived with his father, Fernando, in his house on Terrada street, in Buenos Aires.
