Brian Fernández, Colón’s 28-year-old striker, has been missing for over a week following being suspended by the Argentine club. Player’s car was found wrecked.
A case that is making the rounds in Argentina. Brian Fernández returned to Colón to give his career a new direction, following several episodes marked by drug use. However, more than a week ago, the 28-year-old striker was suspended and has since disappeared.
Pipo Gorosito, Brian’s trainer, confirmed that the player had missed some training sessions and that, therefore, he had been suspended. “I gave him two opportunities. I’m not a psychologist. I spoke to him as if he were my son, a neighborhood kid, a family member, but it’s up to him now. He has to talk to a psychiatrist or psychologist”, he said at a press conference.
Since then, nothing is known regarding the whereregardings of the athlete. This Monday, Fernández’s car, a BMW, was found in a neighborhood of Santa Fe, with broken windows and no wheels. According to a witness cited by “Aire Santa Fé”, the car was abandoned on Sunday next to a main road and the driver was taken away on a motorcycle.
Brian Fernández played for Defensa y Justicia, Racing Club, Sarmiento de Junín, Metz, Unión La Calera, Necaxa, Portland Timbers, Ferro Carril Oeste and Deportivo Madryn and has had a career marked by a series of problems, such as drug use and to arrests, one of them in October, following causing disturbances at a bus stop.
