Argentine court orders the capture of Nicolás Maduro

BUENOS AIRES.- Courts of Argentina They ordered the immediate arrest of Nicolas Maduropresident of Venezuelaand his right hand, Diosdado Hair.

This Monday the Federal Chamber of Buenos Aires Maduro ordered the investigation and capture for the “systematic plan” to carry out torture, kidnappings and executions in the country.

The court reached this ruling by unifying the cases filed in the courts of Commodore Py 2002 against the Venezuelan regime.

The court also heard testimonies from a group of six victims of the Maduro dictatorship, now refugees in Argentina.

“We observe that the testimonies […] appear to exhibit a common pattern in state actions […] the persecution – kidnappings, torture, murders – of the civilian population and the lack of interest in adapting to democratic rules.”

According to documents obtained by Infobaeafter the testimonies of Venezuelan refugees in Argentina as well as other evidence presented in the country’s courts, it was ruled that:

“The collection of evidence is sufficient for the first instance judge to order, without further delay, the summoning of Nicolás Maduro and Diosdado Cabello to give an investigative statement.”

The judges Pablo Bertuzzi, Leopoldo Bruglia y Mariano Llorens They issued said sentence considering the seriousness and significance of the events, as well as the fact that the persecution of the Venezuelan State will continue.

“It is appropriate to order the immediate arrest – via Interpol – of Nicolás Maduro Moros and Diosdado Cabello, for the purposes of extradition to this Argentine Republic.”

Furthermore, the ruling ordered “to proceed in the same way in relation to the structures of the intervening command organizations that were identified or those others that remain to be identified.”

The arrest request was promoted by the lawyer Tomás Farini Dugganlegal representative of Argentine Forum for Democracy in the Region (FADER).

It was also supported by the International Freedom Foundation, led by the Nobel Prize winner Mario Vargas Llosa.

The judges decided to unify all the complaints against the regime in the same case.

Venezuela responds to arrest warrant against Maduro

When it became known that the Federal Chamber of Buenos Aires was about to resolve the arrest warrant against Maduro and Cabello, a similar resolution occurred in Venezuela.

He Supreme Court of Justice of Venezuela requested the application of preventive measures depriving of liberty against senior officials of the Argentine government.

This investigation involves Javier Milei, president of Argentina, general secretary Karina Elizabeth Milei and the Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich.

The Venezuelan justice system accused them of aggravated robbery, money laundering, unlawful deprivation of liberty, and illicit interference in the operational safety of civil aviation, among others.

This is due to the seizure of the Iranian-Venezuelan plane that had arrived at the Ezeiza airport in mid-2022 and was handed over to the United States government at the beginning of the year, after judicial approval.
