Argentine coach Luis Francisco Zubeldía rejected the possibility of replacing Jhon Bomder as the new coach of Atlético Nacional. The helmsman, who is 43 years old, would have communicated his decision to the green team’s directives, who were looking for him because of the good record he has.
At least this was confirmed by Argentine journalist Germán García Grova, who works for the TyCSports television channel. On his

For now, the coach in charge of Nacional, Camilo Pérez, will have to continue leading the Antioquia team that will host Nacional from Paraguay next Wednesday in the second leg of the second qualifying round for the group stage of the Copa Libertadores. The duel that defines the series, in which the Colombian team is losing 1-0, is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
Why did National want to look for him?
Although Luis Zubeldía is a young coach, he already has vast experience on the bench. He began directing when he was 28 years old, since his career as a professional footballer ended at 23, when he realized that he suffered from osteochondritis dissecans in one of his knees.
His debut as a coach took place in 2008. Lanús from Argentina was the first team he directed. He was with that team (which was his home when he was a player) until 2010. Then they called him from Barcelona in Ecuador. He directed that cast between 2011 and 2012.
Racing Club de Avellaneda repatriated him in the second half of 2012 and had him as helmsman until the end of 2013. Then he had his second stint in Ecuadorian football and his first in the Quito University Sports League. He was with that team between 2014 and 2015. In 2016 they called him from Santos Laguna in Mexico, with which he made a good presentation.
In the first half of 2017 he coached Deportivo Independiente Medellín. In the red box of Antioquia he also achieved a good record: he directed 30 games, of which he won 16, drew 5 and lost 9 including the Colombian League, the Super League and the Copa Libertadores de América, with which he obtained a total average of 58 .8% performance.
Zubeldía only lasted one semester at Poderoso. In June, following they were eliminated by Deportivo Cali in the quarterfinals of the League (they were second in the round-robin), the Argentine announced that, due to personal projects, he was resigning from his position.

A couple of weeks later he was presented as coach of Deportivo Alavés of the Spanish League. He only directed that group until December 2017. Afterwards he returned to South America. In 2018 he coached Cerro Porteño in Paraguay and between the second half of that year and the end of 2021 he was in charge of Lanús, his team.
Zubeldía’s last experience as a coach was between 2022 and 2023, when he directed, for the second time in his career, the Quito University Sports League. With the Andean team he not only won the Ecuadorian League, but also became champion of the 2023 Copa Sudamericana.
However, in December of last year he informed the directors of that club that he would not continue at the helm. Since then he has not directed and is one of the most coveted coaches in continental football. For now, Nacional will have to continue looking for someone to try to straighten things out.
