Argentina’s trade balance for January registers a surplus of 296 million dollars: INDEC

BUENOS AIRES, Feb 22 (Archyde.com) – Argentina achieved a positive trade balance of 296 million dollars in January, the National Statistics and Census Institute (INDEC) said on Tuesday, a figure somewhat lower than expected by analysts.

According to a poll conducted by Archyde.com, analysts were projecting a surplus of 475 million dollars for the ICA in January.

In the first month of 2022, exports totaled 5,547 million dollars, with a year-on-year improvement of 12.9%, and imports reached 5,251 million dollars, which represented an increase of 36.6%.

Argentina posted a surplus of 14.75 billion dollars during 2021.
