Argentina reached an agonizing draw against Morocco in a final full of suspense and incidents

Paris.-The Argentine U23 team rescued a 2-2 draw in an agonizing way against Morocco, in what was their debut in Group B of the Olympic Games.

After going 2-0 down due to Soufiane Rahimi’s double (the second from a penalty after a controversial foul), the Albiceleste recovered thanks to goals from Giuliano Simeone and Cristian Medina.

The goal came after a series of rebounds and after 15 minutes of added time, due to a discount awarded by the Swedish referee Glenn Nyberg. It was a match marked by embarrassment and uncertainty at the end, where it was even confirmed whether there was an offside before the decisive goal. Argentina’s next match will be this Saturday against Iraq (kick-off at 10am, Argentine time).

After 50 minutes of uncertainty, following the invasion of the pitch by Moroccan fans immediately after Argentina’s 2-2 draw, the authorities declared the match over.

The refereeing body reviewed an alleged offside position by Bruno Amione prior to Cristian Medina’s last-gasp goal, but it was ultimately upheld. Javier Mascherano’s team did not show its best form, although it did salvage a valuable point against the Africans. The next match will be this Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. (Argentine time), against Iraq.

When it seemed that the game had been declared over, the authorities officially declared it “interrupted” for more than half an hour. A large part of the public left, as did the players and referees.

Meanwhile, Swedish referee Glenn Nyberg could review a possible offside in Argentina’s 2-2 draw. After 40 minutes of the embarrassing finale, the few fans left in the stands were invited to leave. Total uncertainty in Saint-Etienne.Infobae.
