The former Argentine president Mauricio Macri ensured that the country “enter a change of era” following the primary elections held on Sundaysince he considers that the votes obtained by his coalition, Together for Change, and by the far-right Javier Miley show that those who demand a “profound change” are already “majority”.
“The results confirm it: Argentina is entering a change of era that definitively leaves behind harmful ideas that have only caused problems, poverty and disunity,” said Macri, in a veiled message to the third place obtained by the Kirchnerist coalition Unión por la Homeland.
The ex-president, who did not present himself as a candidate, congratulated his party colleagues who won in the main squares, including the future presidential candidate Patricia Bullrich and warned that this Monday “a new party begins, a new conversation, a new debate” which will conclude in the October elections.
“To work together, with all the strength we know how, to carry our message,” he emphasized in a message posted on his X (Twitter) profile.
